The first thing you need to know about coaching is that you do not need to be a personal trainer or have a degree in this field. What you need is the desire to help other people and the drive want to be healthy yourself. Sure coaching involves health and fitness but it’s also about surrounding yourself with people who want to live life to the fullest and feel great while doing it, it’s about being a better person every day, meeting new people, motivation, inspiration, accountability. Not to mention the ability to do it all from home, on our own time, our own terms.
Team Beachbody Coach Compensation Plan
There are different levels to being a Beachbody Coach so first lets review the difference between being an Inactive, Active Discount Coach, Active Commision Coach and a Ranked coach. These are the first levels of Coaching, and are important to understand as they are the first steps that can help you start to rapidly grow your Coaching business and start earning money from what you are doing.
What is Beachbody Coach commission: Inactive Coach
The good news is that it’s easy to be an Inactive Beachbody Coach… but this is also the bad news. When you first sign-up as a Coach you automatically start your first week as an Inactive Coach, until an active order comes through the system to change your status to “active”. As an Inactive Coach, you are still a Beachbody Coach and you still get your 25% discount on Beachbody products. BUT, if you continue to remain an inactive status it is likely a good sign that you’re not actively buying or selling any of the Beachbody products, and are not getting the most out of your Beachbody Coaching opportunity. You are also unable to receive commissions.
What is Beachbody Coach commission: Active Discount Coach (not interested in selling- just wants the best price)
If this is you and you are only interested in getting the discount that’s great. Why not get the best price using the best products out there. With your discount you will get 25% off of all products ordered through your Team Beachbody account, including Shakeology. Not too bad right! It gets even better, as long as you remain active you can receive commissions even if you aren’t trying to sell. So a friend sees your amazing results you sign them up with you as their coach and there you go.
You may have heard this before but part of being a good Beachbody Coach is being a “product of the product,” or making sure that you are using the products to better yourself, and sharing that knowledge when working with other people. Really, is there a better way to showcase the fact that Beachbody’s products work than through your own SUCCESS. If you’re not actively using the products, you’re probably not talking about them and sharing them with other people. This also means that you are really not likely to be able to get other people to try them for themselves, or to follow you and become a Coach in your team. The fact is, if you are leading the Beachbody Coaching lifestyle, the sales and coaches will tend to come naturally.
Now if you became a Coach just to get the 25% discount on your own products, and this is perfectly ok, then becoming an Active Coach may not be all that important to you BUT if you are looking to build your Beachbody Coaching business then becoming, and staying, an Active Coach is pretty much a necessity.
Team Beachbody Coach compensation plan: Active Commission Coach (Interested in earning an income)
Achieving the Active Coach rank isn’t difficult. In fact, if you purchased a Challenge Pack (which gets your signup fee waived too) and signed up to be a coach you will automatically become an Active Coach after your first week in Beachbody’s systems.
Another really simple way to always be an ACTIVE Coach is to use Shakeology yourself! Or if you are buying and giving out Shakeology samples to other people, it will also be easier to stay an Active Coach. By purchasing Shakeology on home direct, you are not only getting a great product at the best price but are ensuring that you will always reach the minimum requirement to remain active (50 PV-see below).
The Beachbody back office system checks and recalculates coaching statuses every Wednesday night at midnight EST to see that each Coach has bought, or sold, at least 50 PV (personal volume) points in the last 35 days. Each Thursday morning you will see the Personal Volume updates in your Online Office showing you your PV levels for the most current 6 week period. As long as you have bought or sold 50 PV across all of those periods you will either reach, or keep, an Active Coach status. I actually have two home direct orders of Shakeology coming to my house each month. I also buy sample packs that I can give away to people interested in Shakeology — so this covers my PV each month without even having to think about it..
Moving On: Let’s talk PV and TV
Team Beachbody Coach compensation plan: What is PV and how do I earn it?
PV, or personal volume, points are associated with every Beachbody product that you, or one of your customers, buy. PV’s are roughly the equivalent of what YOU pay as a coach (1 PV is just about $1). You can see how many PV points are assigned to each product by looking them up in your Coach Online Office, or by going to the Team Beachbody store while you are logged into your account. For example, if you look at Shakeology in your Beachbody store you will see that the Regular Price is $129.95. The price that you can get Shakeology as a Coach is $97, and there are 90 PV points associated with this product. So you can see by drinking Shakeology daily, you will remain an active coach with your home direct order.
TV is pretty much the same thing, except its team volume. The volume your team produces. Bonuses and additional commissions are earned from team volume as you advance in rank and grow your team.

Now that you are active, you can earn commissions from anyone who signs up with you as their coach. This is where it’s important to know that if you are only this business for the money you are not likely to be successful. The importance of being a committed coach is wanting to help others in their endeavor. Knowing what products will help them succeed, creating groups and being a supportive part of their journey is key to really being successful. In reality, if you sell 3 Challenge Packs each month your Shakeology costs are covered but coaching goes beyond the sales. It’s rewarding, not just financially, to help someone achieve their goals.
Team Beachbody Coach compensation plan: Getting Ranked
Your first level of higher earnings (this is when you become eligible for Team Bonuses and the Beachbody Customer Lead Program) starts when you become an EMERALD Coach.
To reach the Emerald Coach rank, you first need to be an Active Coach. Then you also need to have at least two personally sponsored coaches under you that are also Active Coaches (one on each side of your organization). So you can see that your path to being an Emerald Coach starts by maintaining your own Active Coach status.
This is where the visual of the pyramid begins and why many people believe Beachbody is a pyramid scheme. I debunk this myth HERE!
Now, depending on your situation, you might become an Emerald Coach status quickly or it might be something you have to work for but if you are looking to grow your business you want to reach this level as quickly as you can as this is the point where your business growth will start to take off! The reason for this is, simple… Beachbody starts giving you customers (how cool is that).
Once you reach the Emerald Coach status you can also qualify for the Beachbody Customer Lead Program. The Customer Lead Program is simply the point where Beachbody starts assigning you customers — that’s right… Beachbody gives you customers!
Team Beachbody Coach compensation plan: HOW TO REACH EMERALD WITH LIGHTENING SPEED!!
Reaching Emerald is also a rather easy task. Especially if you plan to have more than 1 bag of Shakeology shipped to your home OR if you have family that will be drinking Shakeology regularly. Sign them up as discount coaches so they can get the benefits of the discount. (I recommend spouse for sure if you can use the extra Shake). On 1 side place your spouse and the other family member or friend on your other side. Why? Well once you have 2 coaches, 1 on each side you will then become emerald and be eligible for leads. But why a spouse or family? This part is more strategy for down the road as you grow but if you have your spouse on one side you can then build “their” team down the road. This gives you control to build your team faster. Again, it’s not for the short run, it’s for more down the road when you are ready to become diamond and beyond but you will thank me later for giving you this strategy. 🙂
IMPORTANT: Once a coach is signed up you can no longer move their position after 3 days have passed. So if you are thinking oh I will just do this later, I wouldn’t. Your strategy can be lost if you wait. Having a spouse/family immediately below you allows them to benefit from team volume as you grow. These benefits will be important later. Does it matter which side? Actually, strategically, yes. Some people aren’t worried about strategy and some don’t care much for maximizes their growth for later but these are a few things I wish I had understood, or at least, known when I first signed up. Ideally the person you will have the most control over (probably spouse) is the one you want to place opposite of where your coach placed you. So for example, if you sign up under me and I place you on the right side of my organization then you want to place your spouse on your left side. Why? Well, as I grow I will be placing coaches under you and you will benefit from that growth so since your right side naturally grows from me, You will want to grow your left on your own. Eventually you will balance them and have coaches on both sides but starting out this is a good strategy:-). You can call me a nerd if you want for being so technical but hey might as well reap the best benefit and get the biggest reward right?

Team Beachbody Coach compensation plan: Earning HOW DO I GET LEADS?:
First let me explain Success Club. Success club is Beachbody’s newest reward program. Every Challenge Pack ordered is a life changed!! AND, When someone buys a challenge pack you get 2 points. Or if someone purchases Shakeology you get 1 point. Gaining points is a sign you are working, sharing and helping others get healthy so hence the reward. 🙂
To qualify for the Customer Lead Program, you need to:
- Maintain the Emerald Coach rank and reach Success Club 5 (3 Challenge packs per month). FYI Hit Success club 10 and receive commission from those orders right away!!
- Log at least 8 real-time workouts in the WOWY Supergym a month. This is super simple, but you have to remember that “Scheduled” workouts don’t count. To log your workouts, you have to click “workout now”. Only 1 workout a day counts, and you don’t have to click finish.
- Complete your Team Beachbody profile page with a bio and at least a “Before” photo showing where you started. A “Now” photo can also help show the progress that you’ve made on your journey (even if you are still a work-in-progress).
- You must be a Club Member of the Team Beachbody website (a $39 investment every four months or new pay in advance options now available for a discounted rate). The reason why you need to be a Club Member is so that you are familiar with all of the tools that your customers have available to them, including the WOWY Supergym, message boards, meal planner, recipes, etc. The fact is that this investment is easily recouped as you start having customers join your team.
- Current on Monthly business fees ($15.95 per month + tax in some areas)
Once you’ve met these criteria, Beachbody starts assigning you customers that they receive from their infomercials or who sign-up from the general Beachbody websites. They become customers on your team, and you then become eligible for earning commissions on any future products that they buy. As their coach, it also then becomes your responsibility to make sure that you are there to support these people and help them along their own fitness journeys. Some will be happy to hear from you and others may not ever respond, but as this business is all about buildings relationships you want to work to build them with your customers.
Your greatest success as a Beachbody Coach comes not from being passionate about the Beachbody products, but as the RESULT of helping people transform their lives and reach their goals to get fit and healthy.
Can you combine helping people, and still be successful in your business? Absolutely! I’ve personally met a number of people who have quit their day jobs to run their Coaching business full-time. So if you don’t believe you can be successful and make a 6-figure income with this business opportunity, chances are you won’t. However, I believe that everyone has the personal ability to succeed and reach their goals no matter what they might be.
